Quick Start - Please read these few short paragraphs and managing your website will become self explanatory, and just in case, help is only a click away.

In your website menu, clicking the "Back Office" link will cause this page to appear in your main viewing window created by the PageDOLL editing system. Most other pages and functions also will be viewable from this window, allowing for superb site navigation as your left screen site menu is always visible. Pages can be configured to full screen viewing mode but you will lose your visitors navigational advantage. PageDOLL editing functions are full screen for your viewing convenience. The eCommerce editor works well in the main viewing window.

Tip . . . if you prefer you can easily view any page "Full Screen". Simply "right" click on any link then "left" click on "Copy Shortcut". Now "right click" the browser Address box and choose "Paste"then click Go or press the Enter key. Use your browser "Back" button to return.

You have editing control for all main website pages, set them up as you like. Note . . . the listings.html and search.html are not considered main website pages. They are part of the eCommerce system and are edited with the eCommerce editor. You can also add new main website pages in unlimited number. There is a "sitetemplate.html" page for your convenience. Just "Copy" and "Rename" to suit.

To add a new page to the menu use "Copy and Paste" on an existing link then change the new link's wording appropriately. View it here Although you need no HTML designing experience you are free to use all the HTML you want to. Or you can create new pages from a blank template or ready made templates. Need a special template, Just make a Support Request.

There is no merchandise item limit, list hundreds, thousands or just one item with pictures, description, price etc. When items are sold and should be removed from display, do it your self in seconds. List new items just as fast. And for your convenience . . . all orders are sent to you SSL Secured for credit card or check processing and merchandise shipment. Shipping rates and sales taxes are easily listed using the eCommerce editor. The Better Media eCommerce system features a new merchandise organization and display system. All merchandise includes a unique ID established by you and is automatically categorized as you choose. Your customers can run down your entire inventory alphabetically or use the Products Search feature and immediately find any category or keywords.

Main Website Pages . . . you can quickly and easily change the headline on any website page, the body text, the background image and the fonts used, by using the PageDOLL editor. Click the Doll Image in the lower left corner of the Menu page. General consensus for the appearance of professional website pages is that black text on a white background offers the easiest reading. However your are not restricted to any style, choose your own, you might want to experiment with colorful backgrounds and images. Custom Designed Pages are yours just for making a request and supplying your ideas, no further charge. We will modify them until they are what you want. As mentioned earlier the existing "Frame Pages " setup is the easiest to manage and navigate. However if you prefer a "Non Frames" setup we will provide it. At the bottom of the left screen menu are links to a number of sample pages that will give you an idea of what is available. You will note that the option of graphical menu buttons is also available.

You will need your username and password for editing access. In the edit mode using the PageDOLL WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) mode, you have full control of your pages appearance, graphics, font size, color etc. Is it difficult?, if you can run a word processor this is easier. And there are special purpose functions that can be added to any page and an unlimited number of new pages pages can be added. Using the PageDOLL website editing system, a product of current evolving technology. Not long ago website design was a very specialized process requiring an advanced knowledge in such things as the HTML language. Now . . . the PageDOLL editor is browser based, nothing to install and you can easily operate it if you can type at all, no other experience needed. It operates on the WYSIWUG (What You See Is What You Get) principal. Change font types, colors, sizes and properties such as plain, bold, italic etc. Upload and place images from your own computer and place them any where you want.

Use "Copy and Paste" for locating text, one character or whole paragraphs saving much repetitive typing. Write your own hidden meta tags for the search engines, simply by clicking the "Modify Page Properties" button. Use the "Create Hyperlink" button for creating clickable links, email links and more. Insert special symbols, functions and form properties.

When the PageDOLL editor is first opened there is the default single tool bar. Click the Advanced button: for a second tool bar.

Use more advanced features such as tables (for the column effect). Add or delete rows and columns with a mouse click.

And if you are so inclined you can use typical HTML codes, by clicking the HTML Source Code button:

Finding your files for editing is easy. When arriving in the editor you will find first your website subfolders near the page top. You need not be concerned with the existing subfolders. If you create new subfolders and files, for editing just click any folder name to open it.

The following system control file does not require PageDOLL editing: index.html

Under the folders is your file lineup in alphabetical order, HTML (website pages) and image files. "Edit" any HTML page by clicking the Edit button. You can View any page with the View button.

You can use the "Copy" button to copy any page and rename it in the automatic "Paste" mode. Such as copying the sitetemplate.html page in order to create a new page for any purpose. You can also "Rename" or "Delete" any file . . . use caution.

Note . . . all main website pages that you can edit are named in the lower left corner. The name is to assist you in finding the correct page when using the PageDOLL editor. You may delete these page names when you no longer need them. This page, backoffice.html is not editable by you. It is maintained off site so it may be updated, supplying you new information in the quickest manner possible. However if you ever deem you no longer need it, just delete the link in the menu.html.

Your company or business logo . . . is assigned to each main website page. It is named "mylogo.gif". If you will name your actual logo the same name, "mylogo.gif" and upload it you will need make no more changes to establish your own logo image. The demo logo will be overwritten and your logo will replace it. Tip . . . create a free graphical heading or logo on line, click the "About Images and Other Tips" link at the top of this page. Go to the image builder, create your image, download it to your computer then upload for use on your ShowCase Plus web site. Keep size in mind (not too big or not too small, about 300 pixels wide), you can always redo it and overwrite the old one. You can also create a replacement for the image on your Search page, name it "mainlogo.gif", it is rather small, about 111 pixels wide.

Note . . . these free images are the .png type and must be converted to .gif type, three alternatives, download PaintShop Pro free trial and convert them, edit the HTML pages and change the file names to the .png extention or e-mail Support, you will find complete instructions.

Your Shopping Cart and all Individual Merchandise Pages . . . can be easily customized by you. In the eCommerce editing mode, in seconds you can add, modify or delete merchandise or products and upload their images from your own computer, and change any and all elements on the subject pages. Learn all you need to know about images and uploading them here. This is done with the eShowcase Pro, eCommerce Editor by clicking the tiny Shopping Cart image at the lower left corner of the Menu page. Again you will need your username and password.

You can easily setup any main website page to suit your self and update it as you may desire. Edit it with the PageDOLL editor, delete any text and write your own business introduction or other information. And remember . . . you can change it again and again in only seconds. You can also delete and replace any pictures, or images, uploaded from your own computer. If you need help for more pages, changes or additions to any pages, just click on Support and ask. You need no other outside help and your site can always appear new and fresh.

The Privacy Statement page (privacystatement.html) . . . fulfills general needs as written. However you can further customize it by adding your business name in appropriate places. You can also add to or delete any part of the page. If you have any unusual policy issues they should be added.

Your website management ability is topped off with the greatest "Website Statistics and Counter" system available on the Internet, all part of your ShowCase Plus website package. To access it click the tiny arrow icon at the bottom of your main page (username and password required). It records website statistics in all forms possible, hit numbers daily, monthly and annually, reset at your discretion . . . plus visitor country origin, referring domains and a lot more. A real asset in website management. Note . . . your counter will only be active upon registration and activation of your own top level domain, "yourname.com". This will be done automatically upon your subscribing permanaently to your ShowCase Plus website.
